Abstract

In August 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Mataram City of 2.45 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.89.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in nine expenditure group indices out of a total of eleven group indices, namely: personal care and other services group by 4.66 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.64 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 2.78 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.74 percent; transportation group by 2.15 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.99 percent; education group by 1.38 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.89 percent; and health group by 0.24 percent. Meanwhile, the decrease in the expenditure group index occurred in the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.79 and the information, communication and financial services group by 1.69 percent.

In August 2024, Mataram City experienced month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation of 0.03 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Mataram City in August 2024 was 0.87 percent.
