Abstract


In September 2018, West Nusa Tenggara experienced a deflation of 0.28 percent, or a decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 132.56 in August 2018 to 132.19 in September 2018. This inflation rate is below the deflation rate nationally recorded at 0.18 percent. For the West Nusa Tenggara region, Mataram City experienced deflation of 0.29 percent and Bima City experienced deflation of 0.22 percent. Deflation of West Nusa Tenggara in September 2018 amounted to 0.28 percent due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the index of the Foodstuffs Group by 1.27 percent; Clothing Group by 0.18 percent; Transport, Communication & Financial Services Group by 0.13 percent and the Education, Recreation & Sports Group by 0.02 percent. While the index increase occurred in the Health Group by 0.32 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Fuel Group of 0.12 percent and the Food, Beverages, Cigarettes & Tobacco Group of 0.06 percent. West Nusa Tenggara's inflation rate for September 2018 calendar year was 1.78 percent lower than September 2017's inflation of 2.38 percent. While the inflation rate "year after year" September 2018 is 3.09 percent lower than the inflation rate "year to year" in September 2017 of 3.47
